I recently had the wonderful opportunity to share my story with VoyageDenver, where I talked about my journey from a curious child in Colorado to becoming a licensed dietitian and clinical psychologist, and ultimately creating “Deprogram Diet Culture.”

In the article, I open up about the experiences that shaped my path. Growing up in Colorado instilled in me a deep appreciation for health and wellness, which later evolved into a professional pursuit to understand the psychological impacts of diet culture. This journey led me to my dual qualification as a dietitian and a psychologist, equipping me with the unique tools to address both the mental and physical aspects of eating and health.

“Deprogram Diet Culture” is my initiative to challenge and change the harmful norms perpetuated by societal and industry standards about food and body image. It’s about breaking free from the misinformation and manipulative tactics that often come from the diet industry and creating a space for true health and wellness education.

The article in VoyageDenver dives deep into the personal and professional challenges I faced and how they paved the way for my mission to empower others to make informed, healthy choices that are free from societal pressure.

For anyone who’s ever felt overwhelmed by conflicting diet advice or struggled with body image issues, I believe my story will resonate with you. It’s not just about my journey; it’s about the path we can all take towards a healthier, more self-compassionate life.
